Welcome to Stargazers Apartments...
Our two family run holiday apartments are Stargazers Loft (accommodates up to four people) and Stargazers Field House (accommodates up to five). Both are thoughtfully designed, tastefully furnished and fully equipped, offering the highest standard of self catering accommodation. They are situated in what one of our guests described as "the most beautiful, tranquil location", a very special part of the Golden Valley in Herefordshire, close to Hay-on-Wye on the Welsh border.
The apartments have comfortable furnishings, good kitchen facilities, TV/DVD, free WiFi, dedicated car parking, and storage, in case you wish to bring your own bikes. Each apartment has a private outdoor seating area. For the benefit of all guests the apartments are non-smoking. We are very proud of the apartments, having worked hard during their recent refurbishment, and we are delighted to be able to offer 4 star accommodation which aims to meet all the needs of our guests.
The apartments were originally the stable block of our home, The Haven, which was once the local vicarage and home to the astronomer the Rev Thomas Webb (the inspiration for the names of the apartments). Stargazers, please note that here in the Golden Valley we have night skies unpolluted by artificial light. See this video by photographer Michael Sinclair.

The Area
Having your holiday in wonderful countryside with breathtaking scenery, only two miles from Hay-On-Wye, the famous "Town of Books", you will be within easy reach of the stunning Black Mountains, the Golden Valley and the Brecon Beacons National Park. Within a half hour’s drive is the Cathedral City of Hereford (with its famous Mappa Mundi), and also the historic market towns of Abergavenny and Brecon. The area is ideally suited to outdoor pursuits - walking in the beautiful countryside and mountains is hard to resist with the Offa's Dyke footpath and Hay Bluff on the door step, but if you fancy a change, fishing, canoeing, cycling, horse riding and golf are all available locally (please see our Things To Do page for details). Landscape photographers will need to stay an extra week.
We are also lucky to have many local annual events including the famous Hay Festival of Literature held each year in Hay-On-Wye, The Royal Welsh Show and Winter Fair held at Builth Wells, summer and winter Food Festivals at Hay-On-Wye and Abergavenny, and the famous Brecon Jazz Festival.
Renting one or both of our apartments will provide you with a convenient, comfortable home from home if you plan on attending any of these events or visiting local places of interest.
